CIMBL's Board of Trustees vote to begin dissolving. On February 24, 2010, CIMBL's Board of Trustees held a meeting and decided to begin the process of legally dissolving the corporation. "It is evident that no one is going to step up to take over the role of running the day to day operation of the corporation, so rather than watch the assets dwindle away in insurance payments, we decided to dissolve the corporation in accordance with California State Law," stated CIMBL's executive director, David Albright. Last spring, Albright made the announcement that he was going to step down after returning to work full time and that CIMBL needed a new leader if it was going to continue. After more than a year of looking for that replacement, and having no one come forward, the Board decided to dissolve the corporation. "It's hard to work full time, have time for wife and two kids and volunteer 20-30 hours per week, I just don't drink that much coffee," said Albright. CIMBL's official clean-up efforts ceased August of 2009 - on it's 15 year anniversary. The litter pick up sticks will be donated to Placer County's Road Maintenance division so that they will be available for large groups such as Creek Week organizations and the Board voted to donate all other assets to like 501(c)(3) non-profit corporations in accordance with California State law.

We meet twice a month 10 months out of the year (once in July) and remove litter for 3 hours on a Saturday morning. CIMBL will also help any organization or group in the Placer County area organize their own clean up - whether its a few neighbors getting together or a large company event, and provide all the equipment and logistics - including removing the debris once it's been collected. We also help individuals that want to clean their neighborhoods by providing sticks, bags and vests. CIMBL began with a handful of Saturday morning litter fighters in 1994. Now hundreds of volunteers strong, the team opens 2008 having collected over 29,000 bags of roadside trash (and over 2,000 discarded tires) collected from Placer County roadways. CIMBL was winner of the Outstanding Environmental Achievement 2001 Award from Keep California Beautiful, Inc.
